BACKGROUND OF THE STUDY Civil engineering is one of the earliest branches of engineering. It deals with the structural design and construction of commercial, industrial, public buildings, bridges, dams, etc. Civil engineering plays an important role in or daily lives. There are so many opportunities in civil engineering profession. This is the reason why many high school graduates dreams to study, and wishes to become an engineer someday. In TIP, there were many civil engineering freshmen students who wish to learn and educate much with the lessons they have to pass. Unfortunately, there are many factors affecting the study of these civil engineering students which causes the decrease on their number. As students of civil engineering, the researchers made this study to create an assessment of the decrease of civil engineering student’s population every semester. The study was made by the researchers with the belief that students and other people concerned needs to have an awareness with the situations of civil engineering students was undergoing.
STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM The study aims to find the factors affecting the decrease of population of civil engineering students in Technological Institute of the Philippines, Quezon City.
