I was also touched by the study case Ringo: scars of violence in chapter 11 ((Golden, 2002). It is so sad that at such a young age Larry had being witnessed a family murder, being physically disfigured, and being rejected by his mother. I think that the fact that Larry was living for three years in a publicly funded residential treatment center for emotionally disturbed children was not good for him. I am certain that Larry’s idea that he and the other children were “crazy” and counselors could not get upset with them came from those three years living in the residential home. The counselor calls to Larry’s mother, offering Larry’s mother to pay for her expenses in order to visit Larry, and taking Larry to visit his mother was overinvesting…

“A Child Called It” by Dave Pelzer, this is hands down one of my favorite books it's extremely well written and includes gruesome details that you don't want to read but you can't put the book down. Dave Pelzer is such a brave man for writing about his horrific abuse, he was forced to eat his own vomit, stabbed, forced to swallow ammonia and clorox all y his mom. But he also mentioned that there was the “good years” he said he was always so comfortable with his mom she always gave him that sense of warmth and safety that every child needs. He was also very close with his dad he was “his hero”.…

In the book A Child Called “it”, by Dave Pelzer, the person I like least in this book, other than the abusive Catherine is Dave's dad, Stephen. From the beginning it was very clear that Dave's rolemodel was his father, Stephen. Stephen was a hardworking fireman, who loved his family. In the beginning of Dave's abuse story, Catherine would not abuse him in front of his father, so the times that Stephen was home Dave would follow him around as protection. “ Whenever he went to the garage to work on a project, I followed him.…
