Dave Pelzer also known as "it" is a survivor of the most severe child abuse case in California history. Dave was beaten and starved by his alcoholic mother who was very unstable. She played "games" with Dave that were very torturous. Some of the games left him nearly dead. Dave struggled with learning how to play her unpredictable "games". He tried to wait out time until someone got home or until she got bored with messing with him. Sometimes he won the "games" and other times he did not and had to do or take awful things.
