In essence, my original interpretation of Ephesians 5:22-24 is fundamentally about wives being in submission to their husbands so as to replicate the church being in submission to Christ. For example, verse 24 states, “Now as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit to their husbands in everything.” To the contrary, some may interpret this passage as demeaning to women, causing them to be inferior to men; however, the comparison of the church being in submission to Christ leads me to believe that women are not inferior to men, yet they are to respect men. It is my belief that the original meaning of this passage currently means the same thing now.
