A child’s emergent literacy skills are considered to be the door towards their education. All other subject matter and material the student will discover throughout their educational career will be introduced in such a way that requires the student to be a fluent reader, listener, speaker, and writer. This fluency will, in turn, pave the child’s future growth into their adult life. Their ability to read, analyze, synthesize, comprehend and interact with information will promote the growth of other future skills.
