Driving Events Recognition

Improved Essays
In this section, a brief review is given about the literature on driving events recognition using smartphone sensors. Driving events recognition can be categorized according to the factor that caused this event: driving behavior such as aggressive driving or road surface condition such as a pothole. Two categories of research were reviewed in this section: driving behaviors recognition and road conditions recognition. In recent years, many gesture recognition researches have been introduced using accelerometers in devices such as the WiiMote and smartphones \cite{liu2009uwave}\cite{niezen2008gesture}. Therefore, Gesture recognition algorithms have been used in a number of monitoring systems and they have achieved satisfactory results in driving
