Those who work in the school district are often stereotyped for being rude and only are showing up to work to get paid. A stereotype is an image or an idea of a type of person or thing. It may also be based on a certain way of an individual's behavior as a group or whole. Misconceptions are also a view of as an opinion that may not be true. It is based on a false impression or misunderstanding of something or someone. Women that work in the school district are viewed as typically being the caregivers and that males who work in the school district are faced as being the main disciplines. School district employees are often stereotyped for only going to work to get paid but most employees go out of there way to teach and not only help students …show more content…
This is false because most employees go out of their way to help out students, parents, or other staff members. A stereotype that may be true are that some secretarial staff members is that they are rude but do not mean to come off as rude. Secretarial staff are the front line when it comes to speaking to students, parents, community members, and other district staff employees. They put on a serious face because of how they are treated and they go by the rules of their handbook. Teachers are stereotyped as only showing up to work to get paid. This is a false stereotype because teachers go out of there way to purchase classroom supplies out of their own pockets. They also try to help assist those families in need for school supplies for the schools that they work for. These teachers come in early and leave late at their own time to get their job done. Most of these teachers are not only showing up to work to get paid they show up to work to do what they love the most which is to teach their …show more content…
Special education teachers work with children who have moderate to severe disabilities. To become a special education teacher they not only have to go threw the college courses they need to get their credential but also the many trainings that come after that once they’ve been accepted to teach a special education class. Because the special education teachers have a wide range of students that may either have one or more of the following disabilities, learning, mental, emotional, and physical. The process to become a special education teacher it is required to have a bachelor’s degree and a state- issued certification or license. The difference between a special education teacher and a general education teacher is that special education teachers offer more of a one on one time with their special needs students.
