Presidential candidates plant both fear and hate in the hearts of many Americans, that do not have the sufficient resources to educate themselves on how important immigration is in the United States. The infamous remarks of presidential candidate Donald Trump has created an atmosphere where immigrants are seen as the dangerous burden of the nation. With remarks such as, “ ‘ you have people coming in and I 'm not just saying Mexicans, I am talking about people that are coming from all over that are killers and rapists and they’re coming into this country’”. Consequently, remarks like these create a conflicting nation with boiling hate resulting in division within the country, and the constant belittling and dehumanization of immigrants. But this is only one of the many examples that show how Americans lack the knowledge to understand that immigrants and their American dream is the backbone of the American economy. They had hoped that their two daughters would be able to attend college. Nevertheless, when my sister was not able to apply for college our household reeked with disappointment. Their American Dream was not directly their benefit, but as parents’, they wanted to provide their children with opportunities they didn 't have, but they found themselves unable to do anything. This caused tension to be built in our household, until it was too much. However, the pressure was now on me, at the time the youngest daughter of the
