When I was on my high school tennis team, I was the only freshman on my team, so I felt intimidated at first. But when I introduced myself to the players, they were extremely friendly and fully introduced themselves. The best part of meeting my teammates was also meeting my new coach. I noticed who it was, it was the instructor of my tennis camp earlier in the summer. It was really exciting being able to hit with my new teammates and play doubles with them. I really bonded with my teammates, especially my doubles partner. He was the one who told me about Lindenwood, since he was going to attend it that next year. Now I am at Lindenwood University, because of him. He persuaded me to come here and now I am glad that I am here at Lindenwood. We always see each other during the week, so it is good to still be friends with him and especially being able to hang with him and his college friends. So for all the lighter skin tones, this is the sport for you to try and let your skin get a little

As a senior captain, I was given the opportunity to visit the local elementary and middle schools throughout the year to coach and mentor girls that wanted to play basketball in high school. It occurred to me that I had been in their shoes not too long before. I remembered how much I admired the varsity team when I was a younger and how I would have done anything to be just like them. At this point, I realized that though it was still important to me to win games and advance towards the goal of a state title, I had been given the chance to be an example for these girls just as the previous varsity team had been for me; and that is what really…
