Because of the growing demand for quality ice cream in overseas markets, a Ben & Jerry's marketing manager may seek to exploit this opportunity by expanding into these markets. One of Ben & Jerry's weaknesses is that it has seen modest sales growth and profits in recent years. To address this weakness, a marketing manager may conduct a diversification analysis and attempt to identify growth opportunities from current and new markets as well as current and new products. To address the threat of a consumer that's become more increasingly aware of nutritional importance, and marketing manager at Ben & Jerry's may attempt to develop new products that are more in-line with the health conscious consumer.
