Being in love is something everyone yearns for. If you’ve ever been in love with a person, you know it is that feeling when you got lost in one’s eyes, or when you get butterflies in your stomach when they are around. It is almost like when your heart is smiling and singing with exuberance that it will skip a beat from time to time. Love is when one’s happiness is essential to your own. It is when you see them in a way that other people don’t. You look past their flaws and other imperfections. It is accepting and reassuring. Although the feeling of being in love can be delightful, it also has its ups and downs. Based on experience, love can be confusing, heartbreaking, and overwhelming. I’ve been in three intimate relationships in my whole life, and to be honest, I’ve been hurt really badly. Granted there were good times, but being involved in a romantic relationship with someone can also be disheartening. Love is accepting and embracing each other’s differences and compromising with their offerings. That didn’t happen in my last relationship so I had to get out. I trusted him with his words, but his actions spoke louder. Love is giving someone the power to destroy you, and trusting them not to.
