Emotional, compassionate and shocking book has caught many attentions. Dave Pelzer, which is the main character in the book, describes many tragic and traumatizing "punishments" he had gone through because of his mother. He was starved, beaten and was just plain tortured by her.
Going to school seem like a get away from home and her. So stealing food just to have a full stomach for the day seemed like a good idea until kids found out.Being the one with the same clothes for the whole year and not be able to shower because it is a ¨privilege" he obviously stands out, so kids and teachers catch him in the act while keeping an eye on him.
