For many years, people have encountered conflicts and gone to war. Many people respond to conflict differently depending on how they handle different things. Some people are more peaceful and do not like to fight, but others are more violent and prefer to get revenge and engage in the fight. Some of the different responses to conflict can be harmful to you or others in different ways. In some cases, people give up too easily and they lose everything and other times they might get too violent and end up in more danger than they started with. In order to deal with the harsh realities of war and conflict, people should attempt to avoid getting violent and they should try to have a positive outlook. Letting anger take control can be horrible, especially if we don’t try to calm ourselves down or are not even aware of the anger. Not controlling your anger can lead to getting violent, which can end in even more violence. If you get angry, it would be hard to take control of it and you could make mistakes that you would regret later on. In Coping Tips: Unhealthy Ways of Dealing With Conflict, it states, “ When we are not aware of being angry or are aware but don’t express it, anger can then become modified.” If you get angry and don’t express it, the anger can be placed upon other people, or even yourself, which can eventually lead to possible depression. Avoiding your anger can lead you straight into violence, which could end up harming you or your loved ones. If you acknowledge your anger, you can control it which can help you avoid the violence.
Different people deal with conflict in different ways depending on how they view life. Some people will have a calm approach, some will use violent force, and some will avoid the conflict altogether. I personally believe that people should try to avoid using violence and have a positive way of thinking. If you have a positive outlook and try not to act on hatred, then it will be easier to get through the conflict and eventually help you cope.
