Achieving academic success is something that many individuals consider to be a challenging task. Some people even think that it might be too difficult to worry even about trying to achieve it. While attempting to reach your goal in obtaining academic success, you must meet your university’s expectations and guidelines to reach your goal of being awarded a degree. If you want to thrive in school, you have to be willing to work hard and make sacrifices. The same initiative will also be needed to be successful in whatever career path you choose for yourself. My particular goals in life are just like many other students in college they are based on financial success. I want to be able to provide for my family. With my husband being the only worker in the family right now, I want to acquire a degree that will help me become successful. So I decided then I would set an educational goal for myself, to earn my bachelor’s degree in Business Management. After selecting my degree in Business Management, I set a professional goal of becoming a Manager of a store of my own, an Office Manager, or an Account Manager at a bank. These goals will serve as a motivating force for me in college. Adaptation helps people to admit that they might not be able to reach their goal. Career objectives that are regarded as unachievable are changed or abandoned (Haratsis, Hood, & Creed, 2015, p. 10).
While researching topics for this Continuing Academic Success, I realized that the writing process can help you by showing you what skills you may already have to communicate effectively with others. If you are in a job position where writing is a primary job requirement, the writing process can help you home in on the skills you need to go above and beyond at your job.
