The underlying concept within the constructivism learning theory is the role which experiences-or connections with the adjoining atmosphere-play in student education. This argues that people produce knowledge and form meaning based upon their experiences. Two of the key concepts within the constructivism learning theory which create the construction of an individual's new knowledge are accommodation and assimilation. Assimilating causes an individual to integrate new experiences into the old experiences. This causes the individual to build up new outlooks, rethink what were once misunderstandings, and assess what is important, ultimately shifting their perceptions. Accommodation, on the other hand, is reframing the world and new experiences into the intellectual power already present. Individuals conceive a particular fashion in which the world operates. After gathering all the results, the difficulty index and the discrimination index of the standardized test will be measured in order to determine its reliability.

Definition of Terms

The following terms were defined operationally for clarifications and usage in this study.
Academic Performance is referred as the numerical aspects of the student’s learning in their language subjects which are reflected on their report cards.
Cognition is the mental processing that includes the comprehension, critical analysis, the level of understanding of a student.
Competency refers to the language ability of the student or as a person including the aptitude aspects.
Pedagogic content knowledge includes knowing what teaching approaches fit the content, and likewise, knowing how elements of the content can be arranged for better teaching.
Remedial instruction provides pre-collegiate course work to correct specific areas of
