The play and the story of The Jumping Frog of Calaveras County are both very different and similar at the same time. In particular, there are several things that they said in the book that they didn’t perform in the play. Considering this, there were also things that they performed in the play that weren’t mentioned in the story. To begin with, in the story they included the whole outer frame. The outer frame consisted of Simon Wheeler and the narrator talking together. In the play, they just went right into Jim Smiley’s story.
