A Christmas Story is a story that is full of twists and turns that grab your attention in every paragraph throughout the story. You can read this story manually, or you can watch the movie. There are many differences and similarities between the book and the movie. But what are these similarities and differences? Some of these similarities and differences are small, small parts of the book or movie that can be barely noticeable as you are reading or watching, while others are big differences that stand out.
In the play, Ebenezer Scrooge, an old man, who is greedy and hates Christmas. He pays his employee unfairly, giving him barely enough money to live off of. Ebenezer had a friend who had died 7 years …show more content…
for example, in the movie, Marley flies out a window after talking to Scrooge, while in the play, he leaves through the door. Another example is when Scrooge buys the giant turkey in the play, he gives the butcher more than he was supposed to. In the movie, he does not give the butcher more than needed and gives him exactly enough money. These are only a few of the differences throughout the movie and the play.
There are also many similarities between the movie and the play. For example, Scrooge treats Mr. Cratchit unfairly until the ghost of Christmas Future shows him what was in store for his future. After that visit by the ghost, Scrooge gives Mr. Cratchit a big raise and makes sure that he gets enough money to feed and clothe his family and more. Another similarity is when Marley enters Mr. Scrooge’s home, he is covered with chains and metal boxes.these were a sign for burden that Marley had held in life. There are also many more similarities as you watch the movie or the play.
These are some of the things that happen throughout the movie and play, with many more similarities and differences as you watch. As you watch this movie or play, you will notice that the lesson of the story is that you are not supposed to be greedy or selfish about money. You do not want to be greedy like Mr. Scrooge
