Throughout the first half of the semester in Learn to Lead I have learned many traits and abilities or expectations a leader has or learns during a leadership or while becoming a leader. In Rajneeshpuram, Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh was not a leader. When you compare Rajneesh to Lincoln his skills lack in many ways. Leadership is not something that happens when a person is wealthy or has lots of money. It doesn’t come with building a town, bringing people in and giving them tasks to do, doing that is somewhat dictator like. When being a real leader, unlike Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh, the leader will build up with the group. The leader will work along side everyone and encourage, speak with, and help out with anything he/she can help with. Being a leader is not about having power it is about wanting to help better others and make them better leaders too. To be a leader is not to take control of others but help them along with whatever they need. …show more content…
He did not communicate or help out with his people except for supplying the money they needed. Rajneesh did not speak with his people because he had taken a vow of silence and used another person as the one who would communicate to them and relay the messages. This person assigned them tasks to keep the people busy and in order They did this because having people out of order with what Rajneesh was trying to do would not be to his liking. Rajneesh drove in one of his ninety-three Rolls-Royces everyday around Rajneeshpuram and waved to the people living in the town as they lined up to see him drive

A leader should be someone you look up to and who does the right thing. Anyone can be a leader, but to be a good leader you must be honest, respectful, kind and you must take responsibility of your actions whether they are right or wrong. Leadership and service go hand in hand. Leaders must serve the people they are leading. If a leader does not give back to the people he or she serves they are likely not doing a very good job of showing others how to act responsibly or what values are necessary to making their environment better.…
