Communication is essential to be successful leader and successful implementation of organisational change process (Babarinsa, 2011). According to Barcal (n.d.), ‘‘Leadership, change and communication are closely linked that it’s not possible to be successful in leadership and change without well-developed communication skills’’.
Managing organisational skills successfully depend on the manager’s ability to choose the right path of the communication that match the context and to express the message properly (Barcal, n.d.). To be a great leader involves receiving criticism and negative feedback. Being a true leader means being an exceptional listener, which need leader to be open to criticism. When you don’t listen in this way, workers may not communicate well with the leaders, this can create problem at the work place. So receiving, accepting and giving constructive feedback is the critical thing leader must follow (Adubato, 2016).
If there is any change take place in the organisation manager or leader needs to communicate that with their workers. It is very clear that if the leader communicates effectively, and encourage moving through the change more positively and efficiently. But at the same time not communicate properly with the team members; even the smallest change can give a negative effect (Barcal, n.d.).
