The mindsets that were guiding my communication and conflict-handling strategies during this situation was the reflective, analytical, collaborative and action. I found it easy to use the reflective and analytical mindset because this is something that is done internally in your mind and in a closed setting. Affording me the opportunity to create a plan in advance and a substitute idea in the event the first one doesn’t work. The readings discussed in class influenced the method I chose to communicate. Acquiring an assistant is imperative to my department and fulfilling career goals that I set. When I’m strong-minded about a topic, my emotion can sometimes cause miscommunication to occur. Derailing the message that I’m trying to address and communicate.
