Since the introduction of the cellphone to the technological world has occurred, more and more people around the world have been keeping their devices close to their heart. People are constantly using their device to do multiple activities a days, whether it is using it for simply calling or texting a friend or family member, browsing the internet to stay connected to the rest of the world, or entertaining you by allowing you to watch videos or play high graphic games. Whatever the use, cell phones have come in handy in almost every situation we confront in life. However, there is concern that the over usage of cell phones may increase the chance of obtaining cancer over a person’s lifetime. The constant radiation emitted from the device is causing people to become nervous about the possible side effects of constantly having a phone in their hand, in their pocket, or next to their head. Controversially, this article states that there is not enough data or information obtained that proves that the average cell phone user will develop cancer if they keep using their cell phone. The goal of this article is to shed some light on this issue and to assuage people’s fear of cell phone radiation causing cancer. Like stated before, the article is against people abandoning their cellular device due to cancer risks, because so far, there is simply not enough evidence that it does indeed cause cancer (Loria, 2016).
