This study of cell phones and the risk of brain cancer is an observational study. In an Observational study, a researcher can just watch what happens to series of people in a group. In the presented study, researcher can merely watch the effect of cellphone usage in group with brain cancer and a group who did not have brain cancer. This is not an experimental study as there were no treatments that changed the response to the study. The value of one variable changes the value of other. In this study, the data pertaining to the amount of cellphones usage are explanatory variables and the data that indicates the effect of cellphone usage on brain cancer is response variables.
