Through SWOT analysis, we see the strength of the company especially in innovation leading to high sales revenues making it the leading brand, globally. Many opportunities have evolved in 2013 to 2015. The rising market for Internet of Things (IoT), wearable gadgets, mobile payment market and the market for the mobile enterprise app.
Apple introduced its smartwatch in 2015 and according to BI Intelligence (2015), the growth rate of the wearables is expected to be 35% annually of which 47% of the market is for Apple Inc. The company can introduce other wearable health gadgets to monitor heart rate and sugar levels.
Threats to Apple Inc.
Apple Inc. faced stiff competition reducing market share, sales revenue and profits. The US dollar remained relatively strong, lawsuits, and risk of data breaches. For the stable dollar, Apple Inc’s revenue reduces when revenue from outside USA is converted to US dollars. The sales data from the report by Apple, Inc. (2016) shows Apple earned 60% of revenue from the outside USA in 2015, 56% in 2014 and 55% in 2013; 2015 % 2014 % 2013 %
