Conflict diamonds are a great concern in Africa especially with the bloodshed they cause. Blood diamonds, or conflict diamonds, are jewels mined in Africa and sold by rebels to gain military force. This has been a tremendous problem during the different civil wars in some countries in Africa. However, they are now being used in Liberia at rates never seen before.
These diamonds are usually mined in northern and western regions of Africa. In some areas, diamonds would be placed on outer layers of sand, because of the wind, making it easier to find. Rebels use slaves to drill the diamonds and sometimes shovel till they are seen. The rebellion leaders then sells the diamonds to gain military forces as well as weapons. Organizations in Africa kidnap children to sell them to the highest bidder so they can be used as child soldiers or miners. They are called blood diamonds because of the significant amount of bloodshed of young children and innocent families spilled.

A committee member of the local name, Mr. Wall, has gambled all the money away. His partner, Mr. Finch, will not report anything about the theft. Our reporters caught up with Mr. Wall’s wife, Emma Wall, to get more information. Mrs. Wall says that he is innocent and did not mean to hurt the church or the church’s image. She stated that he had planned to return the money before anyone notices. But does that make his theft right? Members of church think that Mr. Wall has always had an obvious gambling problem, advising him to get assistance. The church has not released the amount of money that was raised but have stated that Mr. Wall has taken half of the money. Kirk Crick, another committee member of the church, stated that Mr. Wall should be prosecuted even though he had planned to return the
