The benefits in using participative management in the human service field are enormous. As our reading indicated a prerequisite for participation in decision making is that individuals must have knowledge, experience, or expertise that they can contribute (Weinbach & Taylor, 2015). Whereas most human service workers are working directly with clients on a daily basis and are expert on what the client needs and managers making the decision are removed from day to day contact with clients(Austin, 2002).
