The Bearded Collie is a dog that likes to have fun. The can be shy with strangers.

The Bearded Collie will weigh 40 to 55 pounds and be 20 to 22 inches tall. They have a long straight shaggy coat. They will be brown, black, blue or fawn and sometimes they will have white patches.

The Bearded Collie was found in Scotland hundreds of years ago. They were used as herding dogs. Many people think the Bearded Collie goes back to when the Romans ruled Britain. They may have originated from the Komondor dogs of Central Europe.

The Bearded Collie will make a loving companion for children. They are too friendly to make a good watch dog.

They are very intelligent dogs. They need to be socialized and trained. They are not good apartment dogs.
