Pit bulls, just like any other dog, want a caring family and a joyous home. Some individuals may argue that pit bulls should not be allowed to be kept as pets due to a few of the vicious crimes they have committed in the past, however, the entire pit bull breed should not be punished for the act of a few of their counterparts. Pit bulls, as long as they have a positive home environment, the proper social interaction, and get plenty of exercise are no more dangerous than any other dog and should be allowed to be kept as pets.

Pit bulls, in order for them to behave well, need an owner that will work with them and give them a proper environment. Before taking on the challenge of raising a pit bull, one must know that it does require a certain

Pit bulls need to learn how to interact with other living things so it does not come as an immense shock to them when they become in a situation where they are surrounded by strangers. According to barksoflove.org, if the pit bull is a young puppy, it needs to be given "daily socialization opportunities with new people and animals...". If raising a pit bull puppy, it is especially important to act while they are still adolescents and instill exceptional behavior in them. However, no matter what age the pit bull is, it needs to have interaction with a variety of animals and people so the dog can learn how to be patient and comfortable around others. Furthermore, it is equally as important for other people to bond with the dog to let them realize that pit bulls are not as intimidating as most believe despite all the stereotypes. Rescueapittie.org also says that letting your pit bull socialize "is an opportunity to bond with other living creatures and practice interpersonal skills and conflict-resolution." This evidence confirms the importance of the dog interacting with others and practicing what to do if a problem occurs while meeting. Although it may be alarming when the pit bull is meeting someone for the first time, it is important to let it happen and be around to help in an emergency.
