Pit Bull Terrier History

The American pit-bull terrier origin begins in the early 1700s in Ireland and England where the breed was first discovered. Before it became the American pit-bull terrier, its original name was the Staff shire terrier. The American pit-bull terrier was a breed formed from tow distinctive dogs. The bulldog was use for the strength and muscular build of the American pit-bull terrier. The white terrier gave the American pit-bull terrier the speed, agility, and the overall bravery to be used as a bait dog and a fighter. Bull baiting was a real big social event during the early 1700s in England and Ireland. Dave Wilson would become the creator of a breed that took the world by storm. Dave Wilson wanted a dog with the more bone, head, substance, and muscular build than the average American pit-bull terrier. His main goal was to breed the fighting nature out of the dog to make more suitable for the society that deemed unfit to be own in the U.S. and other parts of the world. Dave Wilson breeds the American Staff shire which is a breed that’s similar to the American pit-bull terrier but not quite. The American staff shire was bigger, heavier, and massive than the game style American pit bull terrier. Dave took the two breeds and produces a dog that was bigger, stronger, massive, fast, and had a temperament that was not aggressive towards other animals. Dave produce the ultimate show and companion that would replace the American pit-bull terrier and give people a chance to own a dog that was similar in looks but not in character. Dave called his new line of dogs Razor Edge. Razor Edge became a foundation for the blood lone that took over the world. In 2006 a name was given to this new breed of dog which was the American bully. The e American bully was the first dog to be created in the U.S. and not overseas in a foreign country. Many people seen the breed as a mutant and did not like this mix bully breed. United Kennel Club banned the breed to be shown and those who breed the dogs were not allowed at social events for the UKC. Dave Wilson was not happy that the UKC didn’t agree with the bred of the American bully so he created his own kennel club the (ABKC) the American Bully Club.
