Barack Obama, John F. Kennedy, Ghandi, Abraham Lincoln, Mother Teresa, Malcolm X, our teachers and professors, Sonia Sotomayor, and even Jennifer Lawrence all have a common traits; they are all leaders known by many people worldwide. Not all were favorites in the eyes of the public, but all had a common goal to make the world or their country a better place, according to their own perspective. Everyone has their own definition of what they believe a leader is; some might say that a leader just need to be able to control a crowd, while other say that they have to assert dominance and people must almost fear them. So, what does it really mean to be a leader? One must have certain attributes, intentions that will encourage others to follow, and has had experiences to be a good leader.
One isn’t simply born with the ability to be a leader, one must go through multiple trials of life to gain certain characteristics. One of the most important traits, one must have is amazing communication skills. If the person in charge has a soft and quiet voice, their audience will barely hear them and won’t be able to take them serious as a leader. The leader has to have a strong loud voice, so that when they are in front of a crowd, they will stop what they are doing and listen to what they have to say. To have a strong voice one must be confident in themselves, confidence being another key trait to be a leader. Being confident will allow the person to be themselves and not be afraid of what…
