Baclofen is commonly sold under the brand name of Lioresal. It is a central nervous system depressant used as a skeletal muscle relaxant. It is primarily used to treat spasticity and cerebral palsy (CB). It produces its effects by activating the GABA receptor, which is similar to the drug phenibut. It acts as an inhibitory neurotransmitter, blocking the release of excitatory transmitters. Just like in fluoxetine, a person experiences withdrawal symptoms, if he discontinues the use of baclofen suddenly. The withdrawal symptoms may include hallucinations, delusion, confusions, disorientation, insomnia, inattention and memory impairments etc.
