Attention-arousing and orienting material: I’m not gonna lie, it’s a little bit weird that I am pursuing a degree that technically falls under the communications department. I am without a doubt one of those socially awkward kinda guys. And as much as I hate to acknowledge, it I can’t deny it. Hi, my name is Ethan Howard. From the age of 2, I was set apart from other kids, much because after being tested it was thought that I had Asperger’s syndrome. I had a large amount of therapy for several years as a young child that helped me overcome many of the issues that faced me. And yet, there’s still many aspects that affect how I operate in the world today. One of the many topics I could cover about myself within this short time is my speech.

III. Out of context comments
A. Often I will start a thought in my head and begin to make comments on it out loud to others without mentioning the thought at first
B. Many of the times, it happens when it involves an event or situation from the previous day such as a humorous event or new story.
C. And mostly, it tends to simply alienate the listener from me and become disinterested.

Conclusion
Restatement of main points: Though my lack of cohesiveness, my topic obsessions, and my comments without context, I struggle to keep the proper attention and liking of others.
Summary statement: And yet now, I have opened my eyes far more to these habits and how they affect my social interactions.
Concluding remarks: This place here is a fresh start for me. A new environment, and new people. I hope that I can learn from my weird habits and not turn off the people that could be great long-term
