The Women’s March was on January 21, 2017, around the United States of America. Millions of women united in Washington D.C. to protest the presidential election that insulted minorities. This march conveys how much power that women posses. Every so often you get a poet that is able to speak for a generation. Jasmine Mans is a poet that can be seen as a pressure point for many celebrities. She uses the lyrics of their own music to point out the irrational behavior and great influence they have on the younger generation. She is not afraid to be passionate while being blunt in her poetic terminology. The poem is about the female rapper Nicki Minaj. Mans is criticizing her plastic surgery and her music lyrics.

What is seem to be a compliment to Nicki Minaj turns into an insult on her enhanced body parts. Instead of carrying the weight of the world on her shoulders, it’s now on her backside. Her heart beats as a person who wanted to destroy herself. Her pulse may be irregular from that aggressive fast beating. The world is only using her body for self-gain.
