Forces. The objective of this large element is to provide prompt ground-based warfare operations, sustainment, and land control. However, even highly trained units of
Soldiers need skilled Human Resource (HR) professional support. After reading the
Army white paper titled “The Profession of Arms”, let’s take a look at how the Army HR profession and Army HR professionals align with the five key attributes as discussed in the article.

Building this trust enables Commands to focus on other mission specific efforts, processes and missions. Additionally, HR expertise in the development of automated operating systems is a vital function of the current Army HR environment. This is accomplished through continuous refinements, improvements of process, and adaptations due to changes in policies. These standards exemplify the resilient values of the HR profession and the continual service it provides to its customers. There is very limited room for error in HR command environments and this is often where commitment to duty can be found. Long hours, understaffing, heavy workloads, and a constant cycle of customer service related needs are all very demanding of time and energy. The HR profession needs to continually ensure that highly capable service members are trained to withstand the needs and demands that the every changing HR profession requires.
Next, as outlined by the article, Army professionals are known to have the following key attributes: skill, trust, leadership, character and duty. Skills displayed by the HR four core competencies are often accomplished behind the scenes.
