Legalizing marijuana has been a hot topic the last year or two. There are three different groups on this subject. Half of the people that strongly think it would be a good thing to legalize marijuana and the other half are strongly against it. Then there are a small few who just don’t mind either way and are able to look at the facts and see which one seems more logical. I happen to be in that category. There are many facts to argue on both sides of the argument. I think there are more benefits for legalizing marijuana than for it to be illegal.

For example some people might say they don't want a bunch of immature high teenagers running around. I agree with that and believe there should be restrictions on legalizing it such as an age restriction and a limit on how much one can buy over a certain amount of time. There are sometimes side effects if you use marijuana every day. You could have health issues. It can cause problems for respiratory illnesses and can even cause heart issues. The problem with this is people don’t have an argument over cigarettes or other tobacco products that cause cancer and other harmful issues. As a country we allow things with bad side effects to be legal. From by research some tobacco or alcohol is as bad or worse than the use of marijuana. There will be a number of people that abuse it but they would do the same thing if it wasn't legal. We should allow each individual to choose the choices they are allowed to make in their life.
