Animal testing is cruel, unjust, and a form of abuse;therefore, animals should not be scientifically or commercially tested. The term “animal testing” refers to procedures performed on living animals for purposes of research into basic biology and diseases, assessing the effectiveness of new medicinal products(Barbara Orlans). Along with testing the human health and/or environmental safety of consumer and industry products such as cosmetics, household cleaners, food additives, pharmaceuticals and industrial/agro-chemicals. All procedures even those classified as “mild” have the potential to cause the animals physical as well as psychological distress and suffering. Often the procedures can cause a great deal of suffering. Most animals are killed at the end of an experiment but some may be re-used in subsequent experiments. Through my research I have discovered that there are many experiments that have caused animals to die due to the harmful instruments, and/or drugs used while being tested. Tests that use animals to assess the safety of cosmetics and personal care products—such as lipstick, mascara, shampoo, and cologne—are still extremely common in the United States. It 's estimated that thousands of mice, guinea pigs, rats, and rabbits suffer and die in these tests every year in the U.S. alone. Majority of the time the animals are…
