The movie of ‘Tomorrow’, but as everyone knows it Annie, this musical was based on a comic strip, Little Orphan Annie, created by Harold Gray in the early 1900’s. It is fact that originally the playwright Thomas Meehan was a bit hesitant of creating a musical based on a comic, but in fact it was Martin Charnin the director also lyricist who had this idea, in this case persistence paid off when eventually Thomas and the composer Charles Strouse agreed.

The production of Annie is intense at times, and at other times playful, strong and also has the effect to tug on a few heart strings. Though this musical was created so long ago you could still see how relatable, the abandonment, the hope, friendship and adventure all these impacted on why this particular production is still so known to this day in my opinion. The performers could not have been better chosen for the roles, they all were confident with the gestures and body language used, if there was a mistake made, no one noticed.
The costumes used were really accurate but with all the media with annie already messing up the costume and suited people would be very hard. Annie i believe was one of the most convicing characters in this production i believe, the role is also very demanding due to her being the main character and it really made the audience engage in what was going on, the vocal performance at the Riverside Theatre was also really good, basically everything was
