Analyzing Mamoru Hosoda's Wolf Children

Improved Essays
Mamoru Hosoda’s Wolf Children is nothing but breathtaking and simple one of the finest movies to come out of Japan. A heartwarming story about a single mother who tries to raise her two half wolf, half human children while they make a choice between living in one world or the other. Each of the characters are charming and you instantly fall in love with them including the secondary characters as they impact the lives of the family and their choices. The picturesque setting of the countryside only lends it’s self to the movie and the attention to detail is stunning.
Filled with peeks into a complicated but loving family life this movie is one that will make your heart melt. Overall the movie is a treat to watch with romance, comedy, and tragedy

At least it does so for me. Final thoughts, I really liked this film. The acting is solid across the board with Kevin Gage standing out. His portrayal of a violent man, who delights in violent deeds is incredibly sincere. Not that anyone one else is the cast was slacking, but Gage stands out in memory where others, such as Shannon Eubanks does not.…

In the Literary Criticism “Counterpoint”, by James M. Mellard, the critic analyzes the juxtaposition between components in the novel, A Separate Peace, by John Knowles. Mellard strongly suggests to his readers how Knowles uses “counterpoint in character development, symbolism, plot and structure” (Mellard 56), which brings forth the ultimate question of how does counterpoint support A Separate Peace’s “ultimate theme” (56). The fundamental answer to this proposed question, in the eyes of Mellard, is that contrasting concepts are used to prove Knowles’ portrayal of diminished innocence and the path to maturity. At his first point, Mellard illustrates how counterpoint is the greatest technique in Knowles’ arsenal of fiction based writing approaches.…

Hulga Hopewell of "Good Country People" is a unique character in O'Connor's fictional world. Although O'Connor uses the intellectual, or the pseudo-intellectual, in one of her novels and in seven of her short stories, Hulga is the only female in the bunch. Her gender, however, does not keep her from suffering the common fate of all the other O'Connor intellectuals. In every instance, the intellectual comes to realize that his belief in his ability to control his life totally, as well as control those things which influence it, is a faulty belief. This story is divided into four rather distinct sections which help emphasize the relationships between the four central characters.…

The Holiday directed by Nancy Meyers is a heartwarming romance, comedy focused around two women Iris and Amanda, who are heartbroken from previous men in their life. Iris is a writer who lives in a cosy small little cottage in England, in comparison with Amanda, who lives in a Hollywood mansion and works as a movie editor. While each of the women are very different they each share the same mutual bad luck with men they date. I would recommend this film because it provides a sweet and heartwarming theme of different kinds of love such as love for just friends or love for something more such as boyfriends. I would especially recommend this film for women as it describes the struggles of finding love but how it can become an important part of…

I personally enjoyed the film, although they suggested the events that were to occur later, I kept watching with enthusiasm because I wanted to see how they would play out. The diction that the brothers used throughout the film created a negative attitude towards them, although Winthorpe and Billy Ray were the ones to be involved in a legal mess, other characters gained sympathy. Ophelia and Coleman were the ones I was rooting for, they had a job of taking care of others needs from the beginning of the film, and were taken advantage of without receiving appreciation. The wealthy characters such as Penelope and her friends, through the diction and the events were not very liked. The story plaid on a serious issue, which was people’s overwhelming need to consume no matter who or how many people they took advantage of.…
