Pediatric Nurses work with patients from infancy to young adulthood. With screenings, immunizations, and treating common illnesses like chicken pox and tonsillitis. Pediatric works firmly with the family doctors, pediatricians and other nurses, to provide protection as well as critical care. Pediatric Nurses will also teach the patients’ parents and family members how to prevent childhood diseases, and about proper nutrition for growth and development. Therefore it’s hard sometimes for a pediatric nurse to see their little patients in pain with something that they can’t help them with immediately.
Nurses experience stress and difficulties when they care for critically ill and dying patients. Noble distress occurs when nurses are unable to translate their noble choices into noble action. In response to this stress, some nurses may experience tiredness or burnout. Nurses who care for infant babies experienced stress and suffering. Although they felt supported and respected as nurses in their workplace. However they felt struggle with the legal system. To repay for feelings of powerlessness, the nurses simply put on a professional face and continued to provide care. Nurses tend to fear making mistakes, many felt guilty and angry, and all felt that they were not included in decision making.
