Food companies like Kraft, General Mills and Coca-Cola all have one advantage which is targeting the youth through forty thousand commercials a year. For example, General Mill promotes multiple types of cereal like Lucky Charms, Cocoa Puffs, and Trix but the concern with all these cereals is that that are a giant bowl of sugar. Nonetheless the way the product is placed in an aisle for a child from the age of five to twelve to see a box of Lucky Charms with a leprechaun next to a pot filled with colorful moons, stars, hearts, and clovers promotes them to be determined to acquire that box of cereal without knowing the nutritional facts. While the slogan on the box says “there’re magically delicious!” Seeing that General mills is promoting children to eat in the morning like in what way the …show more content…
Ranging from a cartoon character, to famous people, offering toys and giveaways. Nonetheless many food companies have stated “they will no longer aim ads for unhealthy snack at youngsters” however, if you watch the Ads they promote it is impossible for children not to want their products. Whereas Coke Cola is having their slogan displayed all over the American Idol show where the rating view are from kids watching the show from the age of six to twelve. Food companies should be “thinking about their responsibility to children, not about their ‘right’ to exploit them.” They want to be “part of the solution” however they are doing harm to the public by manipulating them into but food products that will cause much harm. Several of these products have been linked with artificial sweetener aspartame, which cause major health problems for young kids. Business corporations would lose vast amount of money if they decided to add improved nutrients in products since it would be genuinely expensive, however with them not doing that it cause the public widely
