Advantages And Disadvantages Of Ubisoft

Improved Essays
The business I have chosen to examine is Ubisoft. Ubisoft is a French video game company which established in 1985, and now becomes one of the biggest video games company around the world. Like some of the other companies, at the first stage, Ubisoft did not have a lot of good games, until, in 2007, they published Assassin’s Creed. This game also started a new age in the game industry, until September 2016, they sold more than one hundred million copies of this game series, and make this game become one of the most successful game series. Beside Assassin’s Creed, they also created some wonderful games, such as Rainbow 6 series and Far Cry series. But every company has their own advantages or disadvantages, so do Ubisoft.

The biggest advantage

First, the plot and the game experience. For example, Assassin’s Creed used to have a very large world setting, but players need to waste a lot of time on tracking feathers or finding some tattoos to find the story out. This is quite boring, especially when all the mini-games are quite similar. Second, they have a terrible server. Some players may have the same experience, when they click on Uplay (a soft that made by Ubisoft, players need to open it to access the games), it usually uses more than ten minutes to connect to the server, sometimes it needs more time, so it is easy to imagine what will happen when the players choose to play a multiplayer game. Then, the next big problem in the games is the bug. Ubisoft’s games are famous for the bugs, like in the Black Flag, all the ship has some chance to fly in the sky, or sometimes, the character will stick into the wall or air, and searching for the bugs in the game becomes a new “game” to the players. The last disadvantage is their games usually require a high computer configuration. Like I mentioned before, it is reasonable; but when it compares with EA’s games, it becomes a huge disadvantage. Take the example of Assassin’s Creed: Unity and FIFA 15, even they came out in the same year (2014), but the requirement of Assassin’s Creed is the double of FIFA. Plus, with the disadvantage of the other, people would not like to buy more EA’s

If Nintendo made Smartphones When Nintendo announced their intent to move into smartphone gaming earlier this year, the internet was abuzz with gamers pontificating on their pros and cons of the company's decision to branch out beyond their own home consoles for the first time. Many saw the move as minor sacrilege, whilst others were more optimistic about the concept of playing more convenient, pick-up-and-play Zelda and Mario games on the tube. What nobody seemed to be doing, however, was thinking about the more exciting possibility; that if Nintendo were willing to develop games for smartphones, they might also be looking at producing a mobile phone/gaming device of their very own! Enter artist Pierre Cerveau and the “Smart Boy.” Pierre Cerveau has not only dreamt up what a Nintendo phone might look like, but has gone to the trouble of knocking up some seriously impressive concept art for it…
