The New World and the New Mind Technology such as internet and cell phones has somehow made its way into every part of our lives from school to a simple workout at the gym. Whereas years ago we barely knew anything about it, or how to even use it. People seem to have found the gateway to the easy road in life. With internet you can find the solution to your problems in no time by googling whatever it is you need or want. We no longer have to wander the library for sources when the internet provides them within in a minute, which is if you have good Wi-Fi. Technology has altered the way people live their lives and may be causing people to differ in the way they learn and communicate. We are in many ways pulling away from reality and living vicariously through our devices. Schools have definitely taken advantage of the use of technology. Students now use the internet to search for sources for papers, read books and use application such as Quizlet to help improve our study habits. This way of learning is causing students to receive information in a different way. In a way that alters how they think and acquire what they learn. Nicholas Carr writer of the essay “Is Google Making Us Stupid?” claims that “And what the Net seems to be doing is chipping away my capacity for concentration and contemplation.
