Elijah, Not everyone will know what they want to do for the rest of their lives when starting college. I started off with the idea of becoming a Veterinarian. After a semester of classes, I realized that this was not the path for me. I began looking into my options and felt it click when I decided to pursue a degree in Early Childhood Education. I have always loved children and am interested in learning how they grow and develop and how I can help them grow and develop into magnificent human beings. A good Early Childhood Educator should possess qualities such as compassion, hard work, dedication, and patience. With these four qualities, you will be able to care for the children in your class and those in your school. With hard work and dedication, you will be awake, with the help of coffee most likely, and ready for the day, no matter how late you stayed up the night before making sure everything was ready for the next day. You will be never give up on the children who take a little longer than others to grasp key concepts that will be important in their future education. With these four qualities, and many others, you will be able to becoming a caring and dedicated Early Childhood Educator that makes your students excited to come back to school and learn. The qualities I possess that will make me a successful educator include compassion, hard work and I encourage those who are struggling to keep working towards their goals.
