I believe that I am fostering and nurturing the next generation of scientists, teachers, and entrepreneurs that will create a better society and world. They will find cures to terminal diseases, and end world hunger, poverty and find innovative ways to save the planet. Two and three year olds normally do not remember who their toddler teacher was, but the educator’s modeled actions do shape the child’s personality and behaviors. Some of the virtues I hold firm are promptness and modeling appropriate behaviors for children to duplicate. They have a positive aura that can be felt by the children they teach. And lastly, I know that early childhood professionals should never stop learning. I am the mother of a two year old that is constantly moving and learning from her environment. This practicum helped me to see what things are normal for other toddlers to be doing and what behaviors are average. I was constantly able to learn new tricks to keep the toddlers occupied and transitioning better. Apart from learning to improve my relationship with my daughter and create a positive learning environment for her, it helped me be a better teacher as well. In my work classroom, we have mostly three and four year olds so it works a lot like a toddler room but with better listening and direction
