First, I like to learn about children, from the most valuable source; their parents. I believe that the parents and I, should have the same perspective on what we can provide for the child. We can inform one another, on information that helps in the success of their child. I speak with the parents, about the child’s behavior at home as well as school. If there is a need of adjustment, as far as discipline, I speak with the parents right away. We come together to establish a plan, on what to do next. I tend to be very trustworthy and attentive to the needs of the parents. I keep an open line of communication, on things happening at home and school. Interaction between the teacher and the parents, should be ongoing. I do realize, that not all parents have time or are able to talk to the teachers. So, I’m willing to communicate via e-mail, phone conversations, recorded messages etc. The process of teaching the child, doesn’t stop with me. I like to keep everyone informed via newsletters, handbooks, bulletin boards, and
