We open windows to each other but we live alone in the house of the heart.” (Doyle) is true. We have friends, family, lovers, spouses, etc., but what are they really for? People are close to us, and some distant for a reason. No matter what we tell ourselves periodically, we aren’t truly manifesting our feelings to anyone, instead we are restricted and isolated. I have been told, friends are acquaintances that become lasting entities in your life. A friend is someone that you “trust” with sensitive information. You rely on them not to reiterate your confidence to those you don’t trust, or that are strangers to you. The definition of a friend states: a person whom one knows and with whom one has a bond of mutual affection. The quote says we aren 't truly open with friends. If so, why do we have them? We have friends because people cannot be alone. For a majority of people, a family member isn’t enough. Family is supposed to be there for you when you have no one to turn to, but in many case scenarios, they aren’t. Who do you turn to? A friend. We have friends because we feel that we have to express our feelings and thoughts audibly. If we aren’t truly open to anyone, then we don’t need friends. You can talk to God about everything.
