Personal Narrative: How I Changed My Life

Improved Essays
When I’m asked about things that have changed who I am, I immediately think of my friends, and ex friends. Every day, people come and go in our lives and less often, these people are friends. For me, friends are hard to make (and to keep) and I easily lose contact with them. I have few friends who I know are true to me, they have been by my side for years and I know they won’t be leaving anytime soon. Two of my good friends are Adam and Gracie, they have impacted my life both positively and negatively. I met Adam two years ago, I was introduced to him by another one of my friends. We instantly clicked while talking, I felt comfortable being myself and he agrees but we didn’t become true friends until we met Gracie a few months

Everyone knows the YMCA song, but everyone doesn’t have the same connection to it that I do. This building never contained one life changing event for me, but it has been a pivotal place in my life. A place I’ve referred to as home many times, the YMCA has shaped who I am as a man. This pivotal spot is where I suffered my first traumatic injury, changing how I do things for the rest of my life; but also was the place I went to when coping with family incidents. My excitement was like a like five year old on a sugar rush from eating too much Halloween candy. I had not played Rock Band in seven depressing years.
