Today an administrative assistants job is to make sure the office is running smoothly while taking on various tasks. Task can include scheduling and coordinating meetings and appointments, preparing and modifying documents, reports, drafts, memos and emails, perform data entry and scan documents, and managing the office calendar. These expanded functions go beyond that of a secretary therefore more education and training is required. Administrative assistants must be proficient with various computer programs
