Determination of the gel-point of a resin via DMA testing and its use in a practical sense The DMA is used to determine the modulus values of the resin to associated temperatures and frequencies. The state of viscosity of the resin is also monitored through the evaluation of tan delta values. Gel-point of a resin implies that resin matrix has transformed into an elastic gel state and can no longer flow. The viscosity shows a sudden rise to extremely high values. The time at which this state is detected marks the onset of gelation of the resin. Gel-point essentially is at the crossover of storage modulus and loss modulus since the value of storage modulus increases due to transition from fluid to a rather solid-like elastic state. bubbles had formed on the zinc. Zinc was then tested in the weak base NaOH with no observable reaction. The second element (A2) tested was an unknown element from Group 1. The density was calculated by measuring the mass and volume of one piece of the element and came out to be 0.12g/mL. The hardness of the element was 5.5 (the hardness of glass) based on the Mohs Hardness Scale. No magnetic attraction was observed when in contact with a magnet. The element was in an oil and the color of the…

Compared to the straight optimization of a non-transition state system to a ground state, transition states are more numerically sensitive and take more time to calculate. To achieve this level of accuracy, we continuously modified second derivative (force constants and frequencies) calculation criteria, which was either calculated initially by Gaussian and then approximated in further steps (Opt=CalcFC), or re-calculated at each step (Opt=CalcAll). Approximating the force constants was usually…

laid out the introduction, and I covered all of the main points I wanted to. The introduction was my favorite part of the speech, during the introduction I did a good job scanning the audience and my voice did not shake, I almost seem confident through that part of the speech. The only thing I would change is that I would pick a different attention getter, because the video clip I chose did not seem to draw the audience in the way it was meant to.
