    Napoleon Bonaparte was a rebellious tyrant who caused a lot of trouble for the continent of Europe. Unbeknownst to European countries, he formed alliances with them, then attacked them while they were weak . While Napoleon may have failed in many of these attempts, he still killed the people and looted their supplies, leaving the grieving families to starve and perish of hunger. Napoleon was a narcissistic and self-indulging man who crowned himself emperor of France, which led him to rise over his people who thought him a savior. When he did this, Napoleon believed he had all the power in the world, and essentially tried to take over the world, starting with Europe. Before becoming emperor, he even sold territory to the newly formed United States, in order to attain money for funding his future wars . Although Napoleon had much military skill and power, he failed in many attempts to take over Europe. Starting in 1799, the Napoleonic Wars were a series of smaller coalition wars, with a coalition of Russia, Great Britain, Austria, Portugal, The Ottoman Empire and the Kingdom of Naples. France defeated Russia, who then left the coalition. Years later, in 1812, Napoleon left many of his captured troops in Spain to invade Russia with 500,000 men. They later had to retreat and many of the men died, showing how neglecting Napoleon was of his troops.
