    On the morning of June 5, 2002, 14-year-old Elizabeth Smart was abducted from her bedroom in Salt Lake City, Utah. Elizabeth’s parents, Ed and Lois, worked with local and national media the next morning to increase visibility of the case; public interest in the kidnapping of the teenager grew over night and the country was on the look out. Nine months after the abduction Elizabeth’s younger sister, who had witnessed the kidnapping, unbeknownst to the kidnapper, remembered that the abductor’s voice sounded reminiscent of someone who worked for the family months before the kidnapping.
